About TAUT Wood

TAUT Wood is a carpentry, painting and handyman company based in Jackson, Wyoming, serving the Jackson Hole area. Our work has covered framing, finish carpentry, property caretaking and everyday home repairs, and it has focused on practical projects where tools and workmanship have to hold up.

From job sites to tools

Working on job sites every day means using tools in real conditions. We found that the tools that mattered most were rarely the ones with the flashiest marketing. They were the ones that held up, swing after swing, cut after cut, day after day.

After years of testing gear on our own jobs, some of it excellent and plenty of it disappointing, we started keeping a list of what earned a permanent spot in the truck. Hammers with real balance. Blades that held an edge through demanding use. Pliers and wrenches that didn’t loosen or slip when it mattered most.

That list became this shop.

Our online store is operated directly by TAUT Wood. It is an extension of the same business and experience behind our carpentry and handyman work.

What we sell

We don’t chase every trending tool. We keep our range focused on the core hand tools that carry the most weight on a real job:

Hammers: claw hammers, manual hammers, sledge hammers, lineman’s hammers and welder’s chipping hammers.
Knives: tool knives, including lineman’s and notched skinning knives.
Pliers: tongue and groove pliers and more.
Wrenches: adjustable wrenches, insulated wrenches and torque wrenches.

Every product is judged the way we’d judge it on our own jobs: does it hold up to repeated, demanding use, not just a first impression? Product pages note each tool’s intended use.

One company, two parts of the business

TAUT Wood operates both our handyman and carpentry services and our online tool store. Our job-site work gives us practical experience with the tools we sell, while the store makes a selection of them available to customers across the United States. Online orders, customer service, returns and other ecommerce activity are handled by TAUT Wood.
